Cyrax cosplay

• Completed in 2015, took 10 months from start to finish

• Started as a pepakura paper model

• Fiberglass armor, foam neck and abs ,green 3v leds, Rust oleum yellow spray paint for base color, aribrushed acrylics for weathering and details

• Every limb has its own battery pack for easy connections

• Debuted at Megacon 2015 in florida, it was my first big convention

• Helmet was made from scratch, sculpted with chavant nsp medium clay, based on reference of mk9 cyrax (my helmet its not accurate to the game)

This cosplay means so much to me, it was the first one i did while taking it seriously, before this it was just a cool hobby, but this changed everything. It was my first big project, i was in a long 8 month depression when i decided i needed a distraction to give me time to properly heal, i started by sculpting the helmet using chavant clay, it was the only clay accessible to me at the moment, a friend from the forums extracted the game model, and i gave it to another friend for him to mod it for me, scale it to my body and simplify it for cosplay. It started as a foam build, but that changed quickly, for the people that dont know my background, i used to make custom body kits and speakere enclosures for cars back in the day, so i chose fiberglass instead, that way i was familiar with the materials. It was also the first time i flew out of puerto rico to a major convention on the states, and everything was so much worth it, had a lot of fun, made a lot of friends and so many doors opened for me.
